Lisa Fallon is returning to Galway United in a backroom role under new manager Éamonn Fitzmaurice. The appointment of the UEFA Pro Licence holder is a significant boost for the club's coaching setup ahead of the 2027 season.

Fallon, who previously served as head coach of the Galway United men's team, brings a wealth of high-performance experience. She spent five years as an analyst with the Northern Ireland men's national team, contributing to their historic qualification for Euro 2016. More recently, she worked in FIFA's High Performance Department after leaving the club in 2021.

"UEFA Pro Licence holder Lisa Fallon is set to join Éamonn Fitzmaurice’s Galway as their new coach," Fallon said. Her return adds a proven tactical mind to a backroom team that also includes Dave Morris, Gary O'Donnell, Gareth Bradshaw and U20 manager Kevin Johnson.

The move comes as Galway United prepare for a key home fixture against league leaders Shamrock Rovers this Friday. The club currently sits 7th in the Premier Division with 38 points from 32 games, having taken just one win from their last five outings. Fitzmaurice, appointed on a three-year term, has been actively meeting players and attending county semi-finals as he builds his squad for the new campaign.
